Antique portrait of a man, signed in the lower left corner. It's a very late 19th Century oil on board (c.1890's) by reknown artist, Adrien Godien (1873-1949), French School. Here, a man sits in bed reading a paper. Perhaps he is having a lay-in or maybe convalescing. Colourful hues of creams, greens and greys fill this painting and the artist has managed to capture the light sneaking through the window and bouncing onto the floor, while the darkened male figure enjoys a quiet moment with his paper.
