Stunning impressionist oil painting on board signed in the bottom right by French artist Henriette Morisot (XIX-XXème). It's typically French School impressionism at its best.  A woman sits with her back supported by a tree reading a journal or newspaper.  The woman is a striking contract to the forest and babbling stream with beautiful green hues and lush depths and darkness, inviting the viewer inwards.  The composition is clever, your eye immediately goes to the woman and then travels down towards the stream.  All in all it's very distinctive and slightly dark and moody.
