Antique French fish oil painting by French artist, Ernest Gaston Amas (1869-1959) see photo. A soft golden palette rendered with exquisite expertise by this well known French artist. A fresh herring lies on paper, ready to be cooked for supper. A slightly textured to the touch canvas, raised to give a textured effect to the scales sits in an old gilt frame. Very atmospheric!
