An amazing and rare still life painting in the cubist style from France.  This beautiful still life is in neutral colours and would fit into any decor.  It's signed and dated in the bottom left corner and hails from 1911.  Square edged apples, a jug and butter dish all combine in this wonderful old painting.  The artist has used a light touch not only with the hues but also on the canvas, leaving it rather bare to demonstrate the effect of the lower tablecloth.  I rarely come across a cubist painting of this age in such good condition.

Condition: This painting is in good condition for an antique, there are some areas of missing paint (see Photos) thinning of the canvas and areas of wear and tear associated with age. The frame is not the original, probably from the 1960's and has wear and tear, particularly at the corners, associated with age.
