Rare antique French oil painting of fish on the beach. A bland dark sand background with beautifully rendered and colourful fish makes this oil on board painting very attractive.

Condition: The painting is in good vintage condition, expect imperfections. The frame, from the same era is very sturdy and quite attractive, expect indentations and losses, nothing onerous and the whole presents very well.
Signed: No but attributed to Abel Dominique Boye (1864-1934) Abel was a painter of portraits and scenes and came from Marmande in the Lot-et-Garonne region of France. He was a student of Benjamin Constant (1845-1902). He is listed in Akoun.com with an average price of 2,600€ and has sold many paintings at auction. His art is exhibited in the museum at Agen. Many of his pieces of art were commissioned for postcards in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
