Antique oval oil painting of roses in a vase by French artist Eugene-Jean Chapleau (1882-1969).  The painting is signed in the bottom right.

This very attractive oil on wood, in its original frame hails from the 1920's - 1930's.  Post impressionist pink and white roses stand proud in a colourful vase against a striped background.  The old wood board has texture to the touch with raised areas of squiggly impasto reinforced raised brush strokes.

Condition:  The board is in very good antique condition. The frame is also in good vintage condition, but do expect losses, indentations and imperfections associated with an item of this age.
