Hauntingly moody and atmospheric early 20th century antique French oil portrait of a man in a jacket or coat with a white scarf.  It's on a relatively smooth canvas with some raised areas giving some texture to the touch.  He has a rugged but gentle face, a country gent perhaps...

Signed:  There is an inscription on the top left to Monsieur Rihe? It looks like the artist has signed the painting just under the inscription
