Antique post impressionist Art Deco figurative oil painting by French artist Bernard Py.  This large size animated interior painting of two women and a girl is quite eye catching.  A colourful painting where the artist has lavished busy brush applied oils.  Your eye is immediately drawn to the woman in red, beautifully turned out in the clothes of the day, the 1920's, her white hat matching the trim of her dress.  The woman is likely to be knitting and the child reading.  It's a kind of lazy summer's afternoon, very delightful and really unusual.

Medium: Oil on stretched canvas

Overall size: 32ins x 24ins or 81cms x 61cms

Date: 1920's

Condition: The painting is in overall good antique condition, but you should expect imperfections throughout.  In particular, there are some old moisture related small spots throughout the canvas.  The canvas has at some time been cut to fit the stretcher but that doesn't seem to impair the visual aesthestics.
