Mid-century original still life oil painting by French artist, Louise Alix (1888-1980), signed in the lower left corner.  A competent still life with plenty of brush applied elevated colour by an accomplished and acclaimed French female artist.  A canvas that is textured to the touch with an array of hues that would fit any interior.  This canvas would have been painted for the Salon de Levallois and won 1st Prize and has an exhibition label on the back.  Levallois is around 6km from Paris on the right bank of the Seine .
