Fabulously atmospheric and dark 1800's antique French oil portrait of a gentleman.  He's in a suit and bow tie and looks out from this portrait to command a room.  He's suave, sophisticated and very slightly arrogant.  It's a smooth canvas...

Condition: The painting has seen the ravishes of time.  There are old renovations/touch ups.  Some damage to the bottom of the painting where there has been flaking paint and a hole.   Marks at the edges caused by a previous framing.  The whole comes together very well and makes a super atmospheric shabby painting,,,..
