Antique French Fine Art Still Life oil painting on canvas of a vase of pansies.  This dark oil painting by French artist, Marie-Amelie Viteau (1849-1930) was most likely painted in the late 1870's before the artist was married and changed her name to Castagnary.  It is delightfully atmospheric.  A dark and moody background with a dark vase showing three multi-coloured pansies in a traditional composition with a fallen petal and even a small snail!   This darling, jewel of a painting is on a smooth canvas and is in a vintage frame.
