A classic French turn of the century oil on canvas portrait of a man probably early 1910's there is also a crest with 'FIDES'.  It's a substantial portrait of a man with good bone structure, very appealing!

Condition report:  This painting is in overall good condition for the age.  However, it does not come without faults.  There is minor missing paint throughout and small renovations as well as thinning of the canvas.
