Moody and atmospheric antique oil painting of an artist.  Male portrait from the 19th century, 1800's portrait of a man.  This is a very appealing oil portrait of an artist, perhaps a self portrait.  He's young with dark hair eased back over his head, one side of his face  in dark shadow, while the other displays a beautifully clear skin.   He wears a very traditional artist's smock with a white collar.  The board is smooth to the touch.

Condition: This painting is in good antique condition, however, there are age associated imperfections throughout.  The frame is the original, again, expect imperfections throughout with renovations, and cracked plaster.  The whole is quite delightful with the mellow gold gilt frame making a wonderful addition to the attractiveness of the painting.
