Antique French landscape oil painting of the setting sun by French artist, Ernest Gaston Amas (1869-1959) see photo.  A palette of the most wonderful hues has been laid on this canvas by an expert artist.  It is exceptional in its mastery.  A slightly textured canvas brings to life the setting of the sun.  The eye is drawn to the centre of the canvas where a textured sun falls into the horizon.  The atmospheric sky above is full of orange and pink tones. Darkened lilac shadows of houses add interest to the landscape, while in the fore the textured brushstrokes of the artist bring to life the surrounding countryside in the most amazing, but authentic colours.
