Antique French impressionist woodland landscape by French artist, Hippolyte Lety (1878-1959), signed and dated in the bottom left corner. Atmospheric oil painting on thick card. Your eye takes you down into the wood where there is a bright dash of water, perhaps a lake or river and then further on to the range of pink and lilac highlighted mountains, where the light travels in from the top right. A textured, colourful board that has good composition and balance with dark purple colours in the fore and the light lilacs of the mountains and all the while the tall trees give a good grounding to the depth of the water and the lush green pasture beyond.
