Wonderful antique oil portrait on wood panel of a woman preparing for tea time.  Charisma and charm are the order of the day!  A beautifully dressed woman prepares for tea.  Is she expecting someone special?  She bends slightly and takes a rose from a vase and places it on the tray to accompany fine china tea cups and saucers.  Her dress is beautifully painted and the whole is incredibly atmospheric.  It's quite a dark painting.  We can look further into the room and see a spinning wheel and two chairs covered in a pink fabric. They sit in front of a vignette, with filled vases on each side of an old clock.  While above there is a mirror with ornate candles on each side.  Truly magical...

Provenance: France.  
Condition:  The painting is in good Antique condition, however there are some imperfections, such as tiny areas of missing paint, some craquelure and scratches.  It's in a newer but pretty wood and plaser/gilt frame.  The whole comes together very well. 
Signed: A Moreau ( 1843-1906)  in the lower right corner.  Adrien Moreau was a French genre and historical painter.
