Large vintage French impressionist interior scene of an artist's studio by German/Swiss artist Heinrich Gustave (1893-1946).  Probably the artist's own studio.  It's an oil on stretched canvas and this amazing painting is very detailed, painted the year before the artist died.  A tapestry of colourful hues and interesting content.  The artist's easel stands slightly to the left of the painting where the light enters  the room, surprisingly dark for an artist.  Various paintings adorn the walls, a landscape, florals and still lifes, which gives the room a cluttered but interesting effect.  This painting is signed in the lower right corner and dated 1945.  A beautifully painting and interesting painting on a textured canvas.
