Antique circular portrait painting oil on canvas by French artist Pierre Bonnaud (1865-1930). This attractive and very different portrait of a woman in a colourful pink hat with flowers and large lilac collar sits within its original circular gilt frame. A smooth to the touch canvas on a quality stretcher.

Signed: Pierre Bonnaud (1865-1930) Pierre was born on November 16, 1865 in Lyon (3rd district) and died in the same city on July 15, 1930, he was a painter and sculptor. He was a pupil of the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, then Paris, and later of Jean-Paul Laurens and Gustave Moreau. A regular medal-winner at the Salon des Artistes Français, where he exhibited from 1890. He also worked for fashion magazines and has his art exhibited in the Musée Hébert, Paris and the Musée des beaux-arts de Lyon.
Condition: This painting is in good condition for the age but you should expect imperfections throughout such as craquelure and minor as losses of paint. The frame appears to be the original, it's sturdy, but again expect minor imperfections throughout such as losses of moulding and renovations.
