Vintage landscape oil painting by French artist, Maurice Paris.  This is an eye catching post impressionist oil painting on card by thhis reknown painter. a hamlet of grey roofed houses snuggle up within a wooded landscape fronted by a river.  It's signed in the lower right corner

Condition: The painting is in good vintage condition and is probably in its original frame that has imperfections throughout and some renovation.  
Signed: Maurice Paris (1903-1969) Maurice arrived in Avranches in 1934 and worked with Louis Fautrel, president of the Salon Artistique de la Baie du Mont-Saint-Michel et de l'Avranchin. His studio was located in Avranches, at 12 rue du Tripot  where he worked with his wife, Germaine Legeleux, also a painter.
He painted the bay of Mont Saint-Michel, its seaweed gatherers, its fishermen on foot, numerous Avranchin landscapes, the ruins of Avranches after the Second World War...
The Musée d'art et d'histoire d'Avranches owns some of his works.
