Signed: Augustin Luc Demoussy (1809-1880) French painter and lithographer, born October 5 1809 in Paris and died in the same city in January 1880.  He entered Ecole des Beaux Arts in 1829, was a student of professors HEISENT and Abel de PUJOL. He debuted in Salon in 1833 and won the medal of the 3rd degree in 1837.
Condition:  This painting has not passed through time unscathed.  The painting is on a new stretcher.  There are minor renovations on the canvas, some thinning of the paint.  The frame has imperfections associated with age, including renovations to areas of missing moulding.
