Vintage post-impressionist mid-century interior oil painting on canvas by French artist, Andre La Vernede (1899-1971) of a July morning, signed in the lower right.  landscape oil painting on canvas.  A charming interior/still life oil paintingof a table in front of a balcony.  A window opens onto the lush green of the garden, a metal railing provides some security and a table is the main attraction.  It's a lovely calming painting in pleasant natural hues.

Condition: This painting is in good condition, you should expect minor imperfections.  It's in a gold/brown coloured vintage frame, again expect imperfections throughout. 
Signed: Andre La Vernede (1899-1971) Born into a family based north of Montpellier, André La Vernède drew and painted from childhood and devoted his entire life to his art.  He spent his youth on the family estate and in Montpellier. During the war years, he ran a property, the Château de Maurinay, located in the Gers region near Pau, where he lived with his wife, mother, and daughter. In 1939 he moved to Paris's 12th arrondissement, where he lived and worked until his death.
At the 1945 Salon des Indépendants, he was admitted by referendum to present a comprehensive exhibition of his works and in 1952, he held his first solo exhibition in Paris (with Robert Bousquet).  In 1953, he received the Prix des Parisiennes de France and in 1958, he won the Club du Tableau prize (with Jean Joyet), the following year, he exhibited with Joyet and Philippe Cara Costea at the Galerie Norval.
In the 1960s, he exhibited regularly in Paris and in Marseille as well as in Vichy, Nevers, and Asnières. His paintings are in private collections in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and America, and several have been acquired by the French government and the city of Paris. The Musée de Grenoble has three of his paintings.
