Unusual and interesting Art Deco oil painting on canvas of an interior room. This painting hails from the 1920's and is signed in the lower left by Emile Chaperon (1868-1946). A corner of a room of a large house with with chair, table and commode or chest of drawers.

Condition: The painting is in very good antique condition. The frame is of the same era and again is in good condition for the age, on the whole you should expect imperfections associated with age.
Signed: Émile Chaperon, born in Paris on March 17, 1868, and died in Confolens on September 26, 1946. Emile was a French painter and decorator. Son and pupil of Philippe Chaperon, brother of Eugène Chaperon, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1910-1911, 1913-1914, and 1928, exhibiting Church Interiors. He also took part in the Salon d'hiver, the Salon de l'école française, and the Salon des indépendants (1929). He was also responsible for the decorations in a number of Opera house and Odéon theaters.
